Electronic Cigarettes Are Dangerous
Though electronic cigarettes are presented as a healthy alternative to tobacco or even to quit smoking altogether it has been proved that they do cause damage to the lungs. By using a spirometry test scientists have found that the electronic cigarettes cause an instant increase in airway resistance that remains for up to 10 minutes. The tests were done on both lifetime smokers and nonsmokers alike, and in both parties there was a significant increase in airway resistance.
Because electronic cigarettes are a recent phenomenon they have yet to be tested like regular medications even though they are promoted as such. What has been found is that they contain micro particles of silver, nickel, aluminum, iron and silicate in higher quantities than in cigarettes. However, the bottom line is that though electronic cigarettes do cause some harmful side effects, they are still nothing compared to actual cigarettes made from tobacco and they can be successful in helping people to cut down or quit smoking.
