Kids Who Don't Like Sports?

Yes, there are many kids who don't like sports. For whatever their reasons, be it a reluctance to enter into the competitive sport ambient that schools' breed or just a general indolence, they feel that sports are not their thing, not their strong point. However, team sports can be very positive for children, helping them build fitness, coordination, and self-esteem. If your child is still developing basic sport skills, consider practicing with them at home and having fun in a safe, friendly environment.
Here your child should feel like he or she can try and fail without any negative repercussions. Another important role the child can have is to investigate sports programs before signing a child up. Speak to the coach and other parents to understand their philosophy. Some programs offer a noncompetitive league where they don't even keep score. Another way to encourage an interest in physical activity to your child is to expose him or her to a wide range of sports, from circus to baseball or dance...the choices are endless!
