Can Cellular Phones Cause Cancer?

First of all, there are a few reasons that cell phones are linked to a potential for causing cancer and other health problems. The first is that cellular phones emit radio waves or non-ionizing radiation that is absorbed by the tissue nearest to where the phone is held, second, cell phone users have increased rapidly and are estimated to be around 5 billion worldwide, and third, cell phone use itself has drastically increased as has the technology it uses.
So, though it's sure that tissues absorb more radiation through cellular phone use, the possible health outcomes are still unknown. It's generally accepted that one's DNA must be damaged for Cancer to develop, however, since radio frequency energy doesn't cause cellular damage it would seem that it doesn't have this risk. In the end, what we see here is that there isn't much research over a long period of time documenting the use of cellular phones and a possible link to cancer. Until this has been followed up on it's impossible to be sure what the long term health results may be.
