How to Make Swedish Clogs

Wooden soled shoes are all the rage this season. Now you can save a lot of money and learn a beautiful new hobby: make your wooden soled clogs! Swedish clogs are made with the same hand craftsmanship that was used on them in 70s when they first became hip to wear. The wooden sole is cut out on a machine from a resistant, but light weight wood. Then a leather pattern is made that will be the shoe itself and will attach it to the foot. The leather is bound to the wood using heavy duty staples.
The leather than closes using a series of clasps or buckles, depending if that's necessary. For the traditional clog form, there are no closures. A great thing about wooden sole shoes with leather uppers is that they are 100% organic! You can even buy them in your garden! Each pair of wooden sole clogs has its own personality as the leather varies in color and thickness, the color may rub off or change in time too. If the wooden part of the sole is painted, this will change as well with use. Your shoes can last even longer than a lifetime if they are treated well: clean the leather, open the buckle to take them on and off, watch out for the wood and use sandpaper to remove marks and olive oil to enhance the color.
